Marijam Didžgalvytė
Marijam Didžgalvytė is a Lithuanian-Tatar games industry professional and critic. She actively explores the intersection of video games and politics, often exposing the harsh realities behind the scenes of the games industry.
Her writing has been featured in The Guardian, VICE, GamesIndustry.biz, Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung, and more.
Her debut book Everything To Play For, which delves into the realities of the video game world, was published in autumn 2024 by Verso Books. The book was named one of the best of 2024 by The Guardian, and also received praise from Library Journal and Literary Review.
Marijam currently works as a Head of Marketing at a BAFTA-awarded game studio. Previously, she lectured at Royal Holloway, University of London, was involved with Game Workers Unite International, and co-founded GWU UK, the first games industry trade union in the United Kingdom.
