The K-Pop Dance Contest is open to individuals aged 14 and older. Younger participants will not be accepted into the contest.

By registering for the Comic Con Baltics K-Pop Dance Contest, the participant confirms that they have provided accurate information and agrees that their personal data will be stored for the purposes of organizing Comic Con Baltics.

REGISTRATION

Please note that registration for the K-Pop Dance Contest ends on April 25th, 2025, at 23:59. If you wish to participate in the Comic Con Baltics K-Pop Dance Contest, you must fully complete the registration form by this time, which you can find at: <…>.

Organizers do not recommend registering for two different performances on the same day. Performance schedules are randomly generated, so you may not have enough time to change costumes and prepare for your next performance.

IMPORTANT: in the K-Pop Dance Contest, an individual can perform no more than twice.

Please note that if a participant is competing in the K-Pop Dance Contest on a specific day, they cannot participate in the Cosplay Contest on the same day. Participants are advised to choose a different day for each contest. This will help ensure the smooth running of the event and avoid any preparation or scheduling conflicts.

In the registration form, it is mandatory to provide your real name, date of birth, a valid phone number (format: +370 xxx xxxxx, +371 xxx xxxxx, etc.), and an email address that you frequently check. Fast communication is the key to a successful event.

The number of spots in the Comic Con Baltics K-Pop Dance Contest is limited, so in the case of a large number of participants, we may not be able to accept everyone wishing to participate in the contest. The organizers reserve the right to close the registration for the K-Pop Dance Contest earlier than the announced closing date, once the performance limit is reached (taking into account the event program and other aspects). Any early closure of registration will be announced on Comic Con Baltics social media channels.

To participate in the K-Pop Dance Contest, participants will need to submit a link to their own or their group’s dance rehearsal video. The Comic Con Baltics K-Pop Dance Contest organisers will review the submitted videos to assess the suitability of the performance for the event format and ensure the high quality of the contest.

The organizers of the K-Pop Contest reserve the full right to change or otherwise amend the competition rules at any time.

CHANGES TO REGISTRATION INFORMATION

If there is a need to change the information submitted in your registration, such as the soundtrack, performer or group photo, and/or the practice video (“reference dance practice video”), you can do so no later than April 27th, 2025, at 23:59. After this date, no changes to the data will be allowed.

REGISTRATION: AUDIO TRACK

The submitted audio track must be in MP3 format, with a minimum quality of 128 kbps, 44Hz (tracks in other formats or of poor quality will not be accepted).

The audio track must be clean, i.e., without any profanity (“clean version”), its ending must not be abruptly cut off; there should be an appropriate fade-out or a logical conclusion, for example, the audio track concludes with an explosion, a thud, etc. The audio track cannot end in the middle of a word.

The length of the audio track cannot exceed the allowable performance duration (refer to K-POP DANCE CONTEST CATEGORIES for the permitted duration of the audio track).

The participant must ensure that the audio track is of high quality and complies with the criteria of the K-Pop Dance Contest. In the case of submitting a substandard or excessively long/short audio track, the organizers reserve the right to not approve the participant’s registration, with notification sent via email.

REGISTRATION: PHOTOS

When registering, you are required to upload a photo of the selected performer or group, which will be displayed on the screen during the performance. The photo size must be at least 1920 x 1080. The photo must be of high quality, meaning it cannot be pixelated, stretched, or otherwise distorted. Accepted photo formats: JPG or PNG.

When registering for the solo category, the photo must show only the performer whose dance you will be performing.

When registering for a duo/group performance, the photo must show all selected performers or group members.

The participant must ensure that the photo(s) are of good quality and meet the K-Pop Dance Contest criteria. If low-quality photo(s) are submitted, the organizers reserve the right to reject the participant’s registration and will notify them via email.

REGISTRATION: DANCE PRACTICE VIDEO

As part of the K-Pop Dance Contest registration form, you are required to submit a link to the dance practice video of the chosen song’s performers. This can either be the original “dance practice” video by the artist/group or a dance cover video by another dancer or group.

When submitting the video link, it is essential to ensure the video is of high quality, i.e., good resolution, with dancers and their movements clearly visible.

These videos will be provided to the judges, so the clearer the video, the better the judges will be able to assess your performance.

In cases where the number of dancers differs from the number of members in the original performance group, dance interpretations are permitted. However, such interpretations must not exceed 20 seconds of the entire performance.

If a participant submits a low-quality video, the organisers reserve the right to decline the participant’s registration, notifying them via email.

REGISTRATION: REHEARSAL VIDEO

In the K-Pop registration form, you must provide a link to the participant(s)’ rehearsal video (at least 45 seconds) via Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, or YouTube. The video does not necessarily have to be from a rehearsal – it can also be a recording of a performance from another event. The key is that the participants and choreography should be clearly visible, without zooming or video editing.

These videos will only be seen by the contest organisers, so they can be filmed with a simple phone.

REGISTRATION: FILE NAMING

In the K-Pop Dance Contest registration form, the soundtrack and the photo of the selected performer or group must be named as follows:

Soundtrack: nickname_artist name_song name_audio

Example: Nickname_Seventeen_Super_audio

Photo: nickname_artist name_song name_photo

Example: Nickname_Seventeen_Super_photo

If the performance files are incorrectly named, the organizers reserve the right to reject the participant’s registration and will notify them via email.

TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

During performances, the use of microphones or musical and other instruments will not be possible.

The use of pyrotechnics on stage is strictly prohibited. Failure to adhere to this rule guarantees the disqualification of the participant from the contest and removal from the festival.

The use of confetti, small decorations, or other attributes released into the air or scattered on/off the stage is allowed, but you must inform us about it during registration. When registering, choose that you will use a stage prop, and in the “Stage prop description” field, specify that you will use confetti or other small items (confetti flakes cannot be smaller than 2 cm x 2 cm). If you do not inform us about their use during registration, we will consider it a strict violation of the rules and disqualify you from the contest.

Additionally, harmful substances to the environment or people cannot be used on stage. Failure to comply with these rules guarantees disqualification from the contest and removal from the festival. The participant will also be responsible for any damages.

Explicit sexual content, excessive violence, or uncensored language are strictly prohibited on stage. Failure to comply with these rules guarantees disqualification from the contest.

Organizers provide only 2 chairs and a table. All other necessary props must be arranged by the cosplayers themselves. If large props will be used during the performance or additional assistance will be needed to hold/carry them onto the stage, this information must be specified in the registration form under “Description of Scene Props”.

We would like to highlight that if participants choose to use stage props for their performance, they must ensure that these do not interfere with their choreography, performance, or with the performances of other participants.

Participants of the K-Pop Contest must ensure the quality of their props, meaning that props should not easily break, shatter, etc. Organizers and other festival staff are not responsible for lost, damaged, or otherwise compromised props at any time during the festival.
