The career of Romas Zabarauskas began with the premiere of his short Porn Melodrama (2011, with Marius Repšius) at the prestigious Berlinale. His debut feature “Strike” (2013, with Beata Tiškevič) and his second film “You Can’t Get Away from Lithuania” (2016, with Denis Kolomytsky) won the runner-up award at the Bushwick Festival in New York and the Silver Crane nomination for Best Editing. His 2020 film The Advocate (2020, with Eimutis Kvoščiauskas) was selected for the British Film Institute’s BFI Flare Festival, where it was among the Best of Fest. The director’s latest drama “The Writer” will be released in Lithuanian cinemas from 31 May.
