Please introduce yourself – what is your cosplay name, where are you from, how long have you been cosplaying?
I’m Mistvein, a Belgian cosplayer since 2013.
How did your cosplay journey begin? What was your first costume?
I guess my first ever costume was L from Deathnote, damn that takes me back.
How many cosplay competitions/conventions have you been to?
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay tooooo many.
Which cosplay costume took the longest to make? Why?
Oh goddess, I believe that must have been Thresh as it took me a year, I wasn’t as experienced back then and had to take my time to really understand what I was doing.
It took me a long time but I learned so much from it.
Which cosplay costume have you worn the most? Why?
Doctor Strange, it’s such a comfy costume.
What part of this hobby/lifestyle do you like the most? Why?
The endless horror of the crunch, because it pushes my limits.
Do you have any funny stories or accidents related to cosplay?
Too many to share, perhaps I’ll include those stories in the presentation. 😉
What inspires you to create?
MY ENDLESS DRIVE TO DO BETTER.
Why cosplay is important to you?
It’s a form of self expression, in which I can try out many new and unexplored things.
What are the three main things that cosplay has taught you?
Dedication, Skill and having a good laugh.
What would you consider to be the biggest achievement in you cosplay career?
When I see that my work has inspired the people around me.
If you could go back in time to the beginning of your cosplay career, what advice would you give to yourself?
Just do what you like and enjoy the most, you don’t have anything to prove.
What advice would you give to the people who want to start cosplaying, but are afraid
or just don’t know where to start?
Cosplay is for everyone, just find a way how you can express your love for a character or franchise. no matter how big or small the medium you’ll be a beacon to your fellow fans.
