Mike Hollingsworth

Mike Hollingsworth is a highly skilled animation professional with a strong reputation for producing standout animated work. Throughout his career he has taken on a wide range of roles, including guiding all six seasons of BoJack Horseman for Netflix, as well as giving entertaining and humorous talks at festivals around the globe.

From scriptwriting to fine technical animation adjustments like fixing eye blinks, Mike has developed expertise across the entire animation production pipeline. This experience helped him advance to Executive Producer on Inside Job and to Executive Producer, writer, and Supervising Director on Cat Burglar. He previously worked as Co-Executive Producer and Supervising Director on BoJack Horseman and Tuca & Bertie.

His BoJack Horseman episode “Fish Out of Water” received the 2017 Annecy Cristal and was named the best television episode of the year by both Variety and Time. That means it even ranked above Storage Wars.

Currently, he works as a recruiter for Illumination. In an unexpected twist, he also wrote the scripts for the last two Annie Awards shows. He is basically a modern Renaissance figure, although instead of classical art, his focus is animation.
