The Creator of “Cyanide & Happiness” is Now in Vilnius – Traveling Half the World for Fried Bread

Rob DenBleyker, the creator of the online comic “Cyanide & Happiness,” which has tens of millions of followers worldwide, has landed at Vilnius Airport. The goal of the visit by the highly popular comic author is to meet fans at the largest pop culture event in the Baltics, “Comic Con Baltics 2024 powered by Samsung,” which will take place at “LITEXPO” this weekend.

The creator jokes that the real reason for returning to Lithuania is the fried bread.

Second Visit

The creator of the internet sensation “Cyanide & Happiness,” along with his wife, has returned to Lithuania after a four-year break. The illustrator, whose works delight almost 20 million followers worldwide every day, is happy to be back in Vilnius and is eager to meet his waiting fans.

“There’s nothing better than having your trip halfway across the world paid for just so you can eat fried bread,” joked R. DenBleyker as he stepped through the airport doors.

Jokes about fried bread have followed the creator since his first visit to the event in 2019. After being introduced to Lithuanian cuisine by the organizers, he asked for just one thing upon returning to the USA – to share the recipe of this particularly impressive snack. For this reason, the first place the creator visited upon arriving in Lithuania this time was one of the capital’s restaurants to taste the fried bread once again.

Chat and Purchase Original Works

R. DenBleyker is one of the four creators of “Cyanide & Happiness,” which began their activities back in 2005. Their comics, known for their distinctive style and often dark humor, quickly gained popularity online. Today, “Cyanide & Happiness” is not only one of the most popular online comics but also part of the successful animated series “The Cyanide & Happiness Show” and other projects.

Fans will have the chance to meet the famous comic creator, chat, and even purchase their original works with autographs from May 24-26 during “Comic Con Baltics 2024 powered by Samsung Galaxy S24.”

The event at “LITEXPO” will also be attended by Adrian Paul, who portrayed Duncan MacLeod in the series “Highlander,” Natalia Tena and Devon Murray from the “Harry Potter” films, Sean Gunn from the “Marvel” films, actress Natasha Halevi, and internet comic stars “Nobody Sausage” and Nathan W. Pyle, creator of the “Strange Planet” comics.

The first day of the event, Friday, May 24, is dedicated to schools. Entry with a Cultural Passport is free.
