The story of the immortal fighter “Highlander” reaching 400 years captivated millions of viewers around the world in the 90s – from the youngest to the oldest. Duncan MacLeod, a sword virtuoso from the Scottish Highlands, became a television icon whose name is still heard by probably everyone today.

To the joy of fans, the main actor of the series, Adrian Paul, announces his arrival in Lithuania. On May 25-26, the actor invites to meet at “Litexpo” – the largest popular culture event in the Baltic States “Comic Con Baltics 2024 powered by Samsung”. Event attendees will have the opportunity to participate in exclusive live discussions, ask pressing questions, and learn more about his personal acting experience, perspective on roles, and behind-the-scenes secrets. Fans will also have the opportunity to get the actor’s autograph or even take a picture together.

35 years of actor’s career

“Probably many of us still vividly remember the emotions created by the introduction of the ‘Highlander’ series with the specially created ‘Queen’ song ‘Princess of the Universe’. How eagerly we awaited the appearance of each new episode every week! ‘Highlander’ was and still remains among the most prominent television projects shown in Lithuania in the 90s. We are pleased to have a partner like ‘Samsung’, thanks to which talented actor Adrian Paul, embodying Duncan MacLeod, will visit us in Vilnius in May,” says Tomas Vievesis, one of the organizers of the event “Comic Con Baltics 2024 powered by Samsung”.

Adrian Paul began his acting career in 1987. Over more than three decades in theater, television, and film projects, the Brit not only played almost 70 roles but also produced and directed television and film productions that gained considerable popularity.

The actor is still actively filming. Currently, Adrian Paul is working on six different new projects.

A sword virtuoso

The actor gained the greatest popularity in the main role in the “Highlander” series created and shown between 1992 and 1998. The actor portrayed the main character of the series, Duncan MacLeod. He is an immortal and invincible fighter born in the Scottish Highlands in the 16th century, fighting with the forces of evil for over 400 years. In the series, the hero is depicted in modern society, continuing his mission but concealing his true nature.

The actor’s exceptional skill, which helped him get the role in the “Highlander” series, is the mastery of sword fighting. Wanting to control his emotions and energy, Adrian Paul began to learn martial arts at the beginning of his career, shortly after arriving in Los Angeles. These lessons became one of the main reasons for his role in the series. The techniques of sword handling were taught to him by the most prominent Hollywood sword fight choreographer, James Gilbert Anderson. Later, while filming the series, the actor also studied Chinese martial arts and applied the acquired knowledge on the set.

The actor played in all 119 episodes of “Highlander,” becoming a true master of sword fighting. Even after the end of the series, these skills accompanied Adrian Paul like his signature – the actor applied them in other roles as well.

The arrival of the extremely popular actor is presented by “Samsung NEO QLED 8K | OLED”.
