14 actors who appeared in all the Harry Potter movies – one of them will visit Lithuania

The world of Harry Potter enchanted many not only with captivating magic stories but also with memorable characters. Out of over 150 stars who appeared in the legendary films, only 14 accompanied fans throughout all eight parts of the Potter saga. Who are they and what are their stories?

Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter)

It’s no wonder that Daniel Radcliffe, who portrayed the main character of the films – Harry Potter – occupies the first place on this list. He was chosen for the fateful role by the director Chris Columbus, who noticed D. Radcliffe’s talent in the BBC production of “David Copperfield.” The charm and sincerity of the young actor captivated the director, and later these qualities enchanted millions of film viewers worldwide.

Emma Watson (Hermione Granger)

In the auditions for the role of Hermione Granger, Emma Watson participated at the age of just nine. Although she had to endure as many as eight screen tests, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling immediately realized that E. Watson was perfect for this role. Admiring her extraordinary acting abilities from a young age, E. Watson became an inspiration for many with her intellect, courage, and loyalty. Like her character, the actress is characterized by endless curiosity and an insatiable desire to learn. She successfully graduated from the prestigious Brown University and actively participates in social activities.

Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley)

However, until then, his acting experience was limited to school plays. To stand out from the crowd, the boy presented not only the usual audition scene but also a hip-hop piece he created himself. This bold step paid off – R. Grint won the coveted role of Ron Weasley and became an inseparable part of the magical world.

Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy)

Tom Felton, who portrayed the villainous Draco Malfoy, initially dreamed of a completely different role – the young actor hoped to get the role of Harry Potter or Ron Weasley. However, later T. Felton admitted that it was Malfoy who helped him mature as a person.

Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom)

Although today Matthew Lewis’s name is inseparable from the character of Neville Longbottom, he didn’t even dream of this role at first. Being a huge Harry Potter fan, the young actor participated in an open audition in his hometown. Although he did not expect to get a prominent role, fate led Lewis to the audition for Neville. Recognizing his potential, the director soon assigned him this iconic role.

Devon Murray (Seamus Finnigan)

Irish actor Devon Murray became famous for portraying Seamus Finnigan in all eight Harry Potter films. Interestingly, he became the record holder on the filming set, breaking the most wands. In May, the actor will also be seen in Lithuania – at the event “Comic Con Baltics 2024 powered by Samsung Galaxy S24.”

Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley)

Interestingly, Bonnie Wright’s brother, after reading the first Harry Potter books, immediately saw Ginny Weasley in his sister – the red-haired girl whose fate is intertwined with Harry Potter’s. Inspired by this parallel, he encouraged his sister to participate in the audition, despite her lack of acting experience. The brother’s predictions did not disappoint – B. Wright impressed the audition committee and got the coveted role of Ginny.

James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley)

The Harry Potter twins, Fred and George Weasley, portrayed by James and Oliver Phelps, did not know which of them would play which twin until the reading of the script for the first film. At the last moment, upon asking the casting director which brother was which, they received an unexpected answer – are you kidding? After a brief consultation with J.K. Rowling and other members of the film crew, the director returned with a verdict: James would play Fred, and Oliver would play George.

Robbie Coltrane (Rubeus Hagrid)

Robbie Coltrane brought to life one of the most beloved Harry Potter characters – the gentle half-giant and Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts, Rubeus Hagrid. Today, fans cannot imagine another actor in this role, and the book’s author J.K. Rowling would likely agree – she invited R. Coltrane to play Hagrid without any audition.

Alan Rickman (Severus Snape)

Severus Snape, portrayed by the talented Alan Rickman, accompanied viewers throughout all the parts of the Harry Potter saga. Even facing serious health problems, he did not abandon his role. In 2005, A. Rickman was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. Despite the grim diagnosis, the actor did not give up, and just a few weeks after leaving the hospital, A. Rickman publicly announced that he would continue to portray Professor Severus Snape.

Warwick Davis (Filius Flitwick, Griphook)

Warwick Davis – another face of the Harry Potter universe, appeared in all eight films. He portrayed two memorable characters: the charms and spells teacher Flitwick and the goblin Griphook. Interestingly, in the film “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” the actor did not have a single line of dialogue.

Josh Herdman (Gregory Goyle)

Another participant from the age of fourteen – Josh Herdman, who portrayed one of Draco’s nasty friends, Gregory Goyle. Although the actor can be seen in all parts of the film saga, he appeared in only a few episodes in the film “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” due to a hand injury.

Geraldine Somerville (Lily Potter)

Although she was a widow, the role of Harry Potter’s mother – Lily Potter – is inseparable from all the Potter films. The charming Geraldine Somerville portrayed the main character’s mother. During the decade-long creation of the Harry Potter film series, G. Somerville experienced not only magical adventures on screen but also joyful changes in her personal life – she gave birth to three children.

Harry Potter film stars in Lithuania

This spring, Potter fans will experience a second Christmas, as two Harry Potter stars will visit Lithuania – actor Devon Murray, who portrayed Seamus Finnigan in all eight Potter films, and actress Natalia Tena, who played Nymphadora Tonks.

Earlier, another actor seen in all the films – Josh Herdman, who portrayed Gregory Goyle – visited the event.

Fans will have the opportunity to see the film stars live on May 25-26 in Vilnius, at “LITEXPO,” the largest pop culture event in the Baltic countries, “Comic Con Baltics 2024 powered by Samsung Galaxy S24.” During the event, fans will have a unique opportunity to meet the actors in person, participate in discussions, and hear interesting stories from the Harry Potter film set and other projects behind the scenes.

In addition to the Harry Potter actors, event attendees will also meet other prominent stars. Among the confirmed guests of the event are Marvel film actor Sean Gunn, actress Natasha Halevi, actor Adrian Paul, who portrayed Duncan MacLeod in the series “Highlander,” internet comic stars “Natural Habitat Shorts,” Nathan W.
