The star of the “Breaking Bad” TV series is coming to Lithuania
Exceptionally good news has reached the world of the country’s culture covered by stagnation – the star of the series “Breaking Bad” TV series RJ Mitte is arriving in Lithuania. At the invitation of the US Embassy in Lithuania, the famous actor will visit the largest popular culture event in the Baltic States, “Comic Con Baltics”.
Just a few weeks ago, after announcing an event moving from 2020 to 2021 due to the risk of a pandemic, the organizers delighted the fans that they will have the opportunity to meet and chat live with the star of one of the most popular television projects in the world.
“The last months have been very unfavourable for negotiations with foreign actors. For this reason, today we are especially pleased to present the first and very bright guest of our upcoming event – RJ Mitte, the star of the worldwide cult series “Breaking Bad”. We can tell the fans that this is a very interesting and easy-to-communicate person, so we believe that meeting him will leave a strong impression on everyone”, says Tomas Vievesis, the organizer of the popular culture event “Comic Con Baltics 2021”.
Fighting for people with disabilities
RJ Mitte has embodied Walter White Jr., the son of the main character Walter White in “Breaking Bad”. Both on the television screen and in real life, RJ Mitte and the character he embodies are struggling with a severe physical disability – cerebral palsy leading to a disorder of motor skills.
Accordingly, it is particularly important for RJ Mitte, as an opinion leader, to inspire people with disabilities to integrate into society and to pursue their goals with courage. According to Sarah V. Stealy, a representative of the US Embassy in Lithuania, who supports the actor’s arrival in Lithuania, RJ Mitte is committed to ensuring that people facing a similar fate do not feel discriminated against in society.
“First of all, we are pleased to continue cooperating with “Comic Con Baltics” and highly appreciate the organizers’ efforts to protect all participants and visitors of the event. Second, this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act in the United States. RJ Mitte is not only a prominent actor, but also a strong defender of equal rights and opportunities, both in the world of entertainment and in society in general. For this reason, we are especially pleased to be able to create the conditions for him to come to Lithuania, and we look forward to hearing about his work on screen and beyond. On screen with Hollywood megastars
The actor made his debut in the series when he was still a teenager, so the opportunity to work with top actors was, in his own words, a huge challenge. The actor shared the scene with such Hollywood megastars as Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, Bob Odenkirk, Krysten Ritter and many more.
Created for five years and counting the same number of seasons, “Breaking Bad” is considered one of the best TV series of all time. On the IMDB film platform, the drama currently ranks fourth among the top-rated television projects. Only documentary series such as “Planet Earth”, “Planet Earth 2” and the historical action drama “War Wolves” maintain higher positions. The series has won two Golden Globes and as many as 12 Emmy statuettes.

In order to get acquainted with the diverse popular culture of the USA, RJ Mitte’s visit to Lithuania is sponsored by the US Embassy in Lithuania. Although the actor will visit Vilnius on March 27-28, 2021, the Lithuanian audience will be able to get acquainted with him in the coming weeks.

Organized since 2017, “Comic Con Baltics” has allowed fans of Lithuania and foreign countries to get acquainted with well-known actors from such cult projects as “The Lord of the Rings”, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Walking Dead”, “Western World”, “GTA ” etc.
According to the invited guests, the event taking place in Lithuania is not inferior to the comic-con type events organized in the USA, Great Britain and other major countries of the world. The organizers who have received an additional break plan to delight their fans with an even larger scale of the event and offer an even wider range of entertainment, increase the emphasis on computer games and invite even better-known actors of the most popular television and film projects to Lithuania.
