Among the announced guests – one of the most charismatic stars of “Stranger Things”

Fans of movies and TV series are eagerly waiting for the largest popular culture event in the Baltic States – “Comic Con Baltics 2023” – which will take place in Vilnius for the fifth time in autumn. By revealing the guests of the event who have just confirmed their participation, the organizers have only strengthened this expectation. Along with other prominent actors and creators, Nikola Djuricko, who played the charismatic character of Yuri Ismailov in one of today’s most popular series “Stranger Things”, and “dailypurrr”, one of the fastest rising creators of internet comics in the Baltic countries, will come to Lithuania on October 21-22.

In Lithuania – for the second time

Actor N. Djuricko will come from Los Angeles to Lithuania for the second time. The purpose of the first visit was the filming of the fourth season of “Stranger Things”, which took place in Lukiškės prison, Semeliskiu village and other specially selected locations.

“The fourth season of “Stranger Things” shook the whole world, and the opportunity to see well-recognizable places in one of the most prominent Netflix projects brought even more joy to us, who watch it in Lithuania. Probably the vast majority of fans of the series will agree that together with his helicopter Katinka, Yuri Ismailov was one of the most memorable characters of the last season of the series. For this reason, we are very happy to announce that the actor who embodied the character of N. Djurickas in October will be able to tell fans in Lithuania live about the behind-the-scenes of the already cult series”, says Tomas Vievesis, organizer of “Comic Con Baltics”.

Djurick’s character Yuri first appears in the fourth episode of the fourth series of Stranger Things and remains prominent until the end of the season. A former war hero, the series portrays Yuri as an eccentric smuggler who loves bad jokes, money and crunchy American peanut butter more than anything else.

Not only an actor, but also a director

During his decade-long career, N. Djuricko played almost a hundred different roles in films and television series of various genres. Among his most prominent projects are the films “World War Z”, “In the Land of Blood and Honey”, “The Living Man”, the series “Legends” and others.

True, N. Djuricko is known not only as a talented actor, but also as a director. His portfolio includes five directed films and series.

Announcement of one of the most popular web comic artists in the Baltic countries

One of the most popular creators of online comics in the Baltics, Ainars Olutnieks, the author of “dailypurrr”, also announced his participation in the “Comic Con Baltics” event.

The graphic designer from Latvia, who already has a rapidly growing audience of 700,000 followers, shares what he calls silly cat drawings that respond to everyday situations, and sometimes to current events. The interesting thing is that every “dailypurrr” cat depicted graphically has a counterpart in reality. The author redraws funny pictures of cats found on the Internet, and when sharing his creations, he also adds the original source of inspiration.

“These comics are like a daily dose of good mood. This is what attracts the audience that enjoys the creator’s content and is growing every day. We are especially happy that “dailypurrr”, as a starting creator, always dreamed of inviting fans to meet at a comic-con type event, and coming to “Comic Con Baltics 2023″ will be the fulfillment of this dream”, says T. Vievesis.

Talk, take a picture, get an autograph

At the fifth “Comic Con Baltics” event, more prominent film and series actors, comic book creators, and computer game stars are expected. Some time ago, the famous British actress Anna Shaffer and one of the most prominent web comic creators in the world – “War and Peas” – announced their participation. Other guests of the event are planned to be announced in the near future.

Actors and creators will meet with fans on October 21-22 at LITEXPO. The visitors of the event will have the opportunity not only to hear the stories told by the guests or ask the desired questions, but also to take a picture together or even get the signatures of the actors and creators.

During Comic Con Baltics 2023, which will be held on October 20-22, LITEXPO spaces will turn into a real universe of popular culture. It includes presentations of the latest computer games and technologies, the largest cosplay competition in the Baltic States, presentations of the latest films, announcements and discussions, an interactive area for families and traders offering a lot of interesting things.
