5 top roles of the event’s guest Sean Gunn
From “Gilmore Girls” to “The Avengers” – US actor Sean Gunn has embodied dozens of prominent roles, well-known to fans of both cinema and television series. To the amazement of fans, in May, the actor will visit Vilnius for the largest popular culture event “Comic Con Baltics 2024 Powered by Samsung.” While awaiting the meeting, let’s recall Sean Gunn’s most prominent roles and discover the versatility of the actor’s talent.
- Sammy Capulet
The actor began his career in the 1996 horror comedy “Tromeo and Juliet.” It is a film based on one of William Shakespeare’s most famous tragedies, “Romeo and Juliet,” telling the story of the love between two young people. Unlike the original story, the film is filled with scenes of violence and sex, giving it a darker and more provocative tone. In the film “Tromeo and Juliet,” Sean Gunn portrayed Sammy Capulet, a character whose death became a crucial twist in the film’s plot.
- Kirk Gleason
One of Sean Gunn’s most prominent roles, which became a springboard to other famous projects, was the character of Kirk Gleason in the drama series “Gilmore Girls.” The actor portrayed an eccentric member of the town’s community. Over seven seasons, Kirk tried out 62 different professions – from waiter to funeral director. Despite his capricious and sometimes irrational behavior, Kirk gradually became a beloved character in “Gilmore Girls.” Kirk’s character revealed Sean Gunn’s talent for creating both comedic and complex roles.
- Kraglin Obfonteri
Perhaps one of Sean Gunn’s most memorable roles is Kraglin Obfonteri in the “Marvel” universe. He is one of the prominent members of the “Ravagers” clan, a loyal follower of Yondu. The character, with a good heart and a sense of humor, quickly won over the audience’s sympathy and became one of the favorite characters in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” film series. Kraglin also appeared in other films created by “Marvel Studios”: “Avengers: Endgame,” “Thor: Love and Thunder,” and others.
- Rocket Raccoon (Motion Capture)
For many fans of “Guardians of the Galaxy,” the cheeky Rocket Raccoon is inseparable from actor Bradley Cooper, but less known is the fact that actor Sean Gunn is responsible for the character’s movements and lively facial expressions. It was he who, wearing a special motion-capture suit, brought the character of Rocket to life. Interestingly, the actor, in order to realistically convey the character’s movements, observed and learned from a real raccoon named Oreo.
- Marty Espenscheid
Sean Gunn also demonstrated his talent in the horror film “The Belko Experiment.” Here he portrays Marty Espenscheid, a humble café worker who unexpectedly finds himself in a brutal experiment. He and other employees are faced with a terrible dilemma – to kill or be killed. Although the film is full of death and horror, Sean Gunn’s character becomes a ray of light in the darkness. Marty reveals the goodness of humanity even in the most difficult circumstances. He tries to help others, maintain hope, and find a way out of a hopeless situation.

In addition to Sean Gunn, this year’s “Comic Con Baltics 2024 Powered by Samsung Galaxy S24” will delight fans with many other well-known names.
